About
I am Liam Hole – an experienced, artisan plasterer and decorator based in Leatherhead, Surrey. Trained in the traditional craft of plastering and decorating. I provide a high-quality plastering and decorating service throughout the Surrey Hills and beyond. Areas include Leatherhead, Dorking, Epsom, Horley, Reigate, Guildford, Godalming, Farnham and the surrounding villages.
What I do
I offer a comprehensive service in traditional lime and gypsum plastering, fibrous plaster installation, cornice in-situ repairs, repair care timber restoration and maintenance, wallpapering and painting. I cover all interior and exterior work for residential clients. I am a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen, a trained contractor for Repair Care and a member of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB).

Polished Plaster & Tadelakt
We provide polished plastering treatments, including the traditional Tadelakt of Morocco.
Due to its water resistance, tadelakt is one of the few natural materials that can be applied with ease to walls, floors, sinks, showers, and bathtubs. This custom nearly vanished but has recently experienced a rebirth and gained enormous popularity throughout Europe.
Traditional tiling is gradually being replaced by tadelakt as a fashionable decorative finish for kitchens, baths, and other spaces.

Repair and restoration of heritage plasterwork
We are specialists in the reinstatement and repair of lath and lime plasterwork, and bring our considerable experience to listed buildings and historically significant properties across the UK. We carefully restore walls and ceilings using traditional methods, ensuring the preservation of heritage details and ensuring that each detail is meticulously finished to the highest standards.
Recent heritage projects worked on include Hampton Court Palace (repairing lath and plaster ceilings), and the Albert Hall - repairing and re-painting areas of the stage.
Lime plastering for historic buildings
We work with lime plaster in many of our older and heritage building projects where it has been used in the original. Lime plaster is a traditional, porous and flexible building material which has many advantages including its ability to allow structures to breath, self-heal cracks and remain flexible, as well as being environmentally friendly.

Our Experience
Liam has over 20 years’ experience within the trades and is City and Guilds certificated. Liam has also gained extra experience with National Trust/SPAB training at Coleshill, Notting Hill School of polished plaster and paint effects, School of Decorative Art in Cheshire, as well as Gold Trowel training centre in Essex. Plastering & decorating has been a trade in the family for over 5 generations with knowledge and traditional tools being handed down from over the past 100 years. I am a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen and a trained contractor for Repair Care. I am also a member of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB).
